I found Jesus on 17th Street
I spent the early part of my day looking for work by my new apartment. While strolling down 17th street I saw a man wearing a Statue of Liberty Costume and waving a sign for "Liberty Taxes". The man was looking very enthused for such a daunting task of waving a large sign in the air all day, he must be getting paid decent money for the labor. I asked him "So, how much are they paying you to stand out here and wave that sign around all day?" The man then looked at me strangely as if no one had ever taken the time to say hello, or ask him any questions. He then replied with an answer that almost made my head spin, but renewed my faith that there are decent people in this world still "I work for free. You see, I live at my local church and we're very poor and cannot pay our electricity bill. The church has allowed me to stay for free, and I turn I work to help pay the bills". I was astonished by his answer, and before I said good day to him I had to ask, "My name is Taylor, what is your name?" and he replied "My name you ask? My name is Jesus". Coincidence? Most likely, but still pretty cool.
