Can't afford a car? What I do to get around town

So I haven't been lucky enough to buy a new car since I crashed my old truck, and that has made getting around town a little more complicated than just zipping down to the store in a car and being back in a few minutes.  Ive had to think outside the box.  For close trips like to the store or out to get a bite to eat I prefer riding my bike.  It's my mom's pink five speed that she bought from Walmart but it does the trick and i'm ok with my sexuality enough that I can shrug off any remarks ;) For long trips I like taking the bus, although it may take longer to get there, I usually spend the trip catching up on some reading or playing angry birds on my phone.

So my question is, what type of transportation do you use when a car just isn't available?

  2. I love the bus, I wouldn't be going to college without it. I also have plenty of convenience stores and eateries within walking distance, so sometimes I do just that. Its quite calming talking a nice walk.

  3. Using the bus is no fun, you have to wait at the stop going both ways, and it just wastes so much time.

  4. I use the bus unless I'm in an area with a good rail system that can get you where you need to go. Apart from that, I enjoy walking from A to B.

  5. Definitely bike for short trips, public transport for the longer ones...there's no point in being the only person in a car for 5+, such a waste.

  6. I hate buses. I normally just ride the subway everywhere. Most convenient in NYC!
